Global Affairs Table

An ongoing and comprehensive foreign affairs dialogue at Brandeis. This series matches the Wien International Scholars with the student group Gen Ed Now to foster connections between faculty and students. The project team held their first event, on Zimbabwe, in late September. Check out coverage of the event here. The next Table, on Pakistan, was held on Nov. 18 and featured Wien International Scholars Anum Irfan Khan '10 and Nadir Daudi '10. Other collaborative versions of the Table have been held on Russia (with the Center for German and European Studies) and peace-building in Africa (with Coexistence International).

Iceland - how has the international financial crisis impacted Iceland's financial institutions, its domestic politics and government, and its relations with neighbours? Icelandic graduate student Bjorn Gunnarsson will provide his personal perspective on key local issues, and Professor Kerry Chase, associate professor of politics specializing in International Political Economy, will help shed light on the causes and implications of the crisis.
