William Koehler, PhD’00, is the new dean of Regis College’s School of Business and Communication, providing academic and strategic leadership for the school, including the oversight of programs and assessment. He previously served as the dean of the School of Management at Bay State College, in Boston. “Pixelandia,” an orchestral piece written by Yu-Hui Chang, PhD’01, a professor of composition at Brandeis, had its world premiere at a Boston Modern Orchestra Project concert in April. The work was inspired by the neighborhood video arcades that were popular when Yu-Hui was growing up in Taiwan. John Aylward, MFA’06, PhD’08, was recognized by the American Academy of Arts and Letters with its annual Walter Hinrichsen Award in Music in June. The Clark University associate professor of music composition and theory was previously honored by the academy in 2011 with the Goddard Lieberson Fellowship, given annually to gifted young composers. Yi Zhang, MA’06, PhD’11, is an assistant professor of economics and business administration at Virginia’s Bridgewater College. She earned a BS in life sciences from Peking University, in China. Her master’s and doctoral degrees from Brandeis are in social psychology. She studies marketing and does research into consumer decision making.
