Bachelor of Arts in Business
Brandeis students are multidimensional, and so is the Brandeis business major. Our unique undergraduate business program is a partnership between the Brandeis International Business School and the School of Arts and Sciences. This means you can pursue your interests in the humanities even as you receive top-notch training in the social, economic, and ethical issues of global business.
Because the business major it is rooted in the liberal arts, you will encounter innovative thinkers with diverse points of view. Your peers will be highly motivated and focused — not just in front of the class, but in the seat beside you.
The undergraduate business program not only allows but strongly encourages you to pursue a joint major. Double major in psychology, for example, and you will be prepared for a career in marketing. Double major in sociology and you will be uniquely equipped for the field of human resources. Or double major in theater arts if you want to take on the business of show business.
You may also apply to one of the accelerated graduate programs, which allows you to earn a bachelor's degree in the field of your choice and a master's degree in just five years. Or you can minor in business as a way of pursuing a liberal arts degree first and foremost while acquiring a solid understanding of business.
The Brandeis approach to business gives you the best of both worlds: you develop an analytical understanding of business and also gain a foundation of practical skills.
Why Brandeis?
Our faculty are thought leaders and scholars who will infuse your classes with real-world relevance through the analysis and debate of business school case studies rather than textbook learning alone. You will gain the quantitative and critical thinking skills that are essential to strategic planning and complex problem-solving. Thanks to the emphasis on in-class participation, you will become fluent in the language of business and gain the speaking skills you'll need to make persuasive presentations.
Such credentials — a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of business, the humanistic perspective of a liberal arts education, and an appreciation of the social and global context of business — will truly distinguish you in the marketplace.
