Marcie Abramson

Lecturer in Education

Marcie Abramson’s spirit for teaching mathematics is contagious and has made her an increasingly sought-after independent consultant and presenter for teachers of elementary to high school aged students. With 30 years of teaching middle school mathematics, she is also an adjunct faculty member at Lesley University, where she teaches and coaches teachers. She has written numerous publications including Painless Math Word Problems, (Barrons 2010, 2001.)

Among her passions and specialties are working with pre-service and classroom teachers in the area of differentiated instruction, so that ALL students have equal access to mathematics.

She continues to present at local and national conferences, such as those sponsored by NCSM and NCTM and its affiliates.

Marcie was elected to the Massachusetts Mathematics Teacher Hall of Fame in 2018.
