How to Apply

Graduate student working in a lab

Only students currently enrolled in one of the six participating PhD programs — biochemistry & biophysics, chemistry, computer science, molecular and cell biology, neuroscience, and physics are eligible to join the QB program. If you are not currently enrolled, you must apply and gain admission to one of the PhD programs before applying to QB.

Ordinarily, students apply for admission to QB during their first or second year of graduate school. If you are interested in the QB program, you should discuss your interest as early as possible with the appropriate PhD program faculty liaison and/or with one of the QB cochairs.

To apply, students should download and complete the Application for Admission (pdf) to the Brandeis Interdepartmental Program in Quantitative Biology and submit it to the Division of Science Graduate Affairs Office.

Additional information about participating PhD programs at Brandeis and their relation to the QB program can be obtained by emailing our faculty liaisons or one of the QB co-directors.
