REGISTER FOR COURSES (Fall 2009)
Regular registration period: Monday, August 3, 2009 - Sunday, September 13, 2009
Late registration period: Monday, September 14, 2009 - Thursday, September 17, 2009
First week of classes: Monday, September 14, 2009 - Thursday, September 17, 2009
Course Registration At Brandeis, students may register for an individual course before matriculating into a graduate certificate or master's degree program. A registration form can be downloaded, or can be obtained by contacting the Division of Graduate Professional Studies. Registration can be completed online, in person, by mail, or by FAX.
Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-serve
basis. If the number of registrations exceeds the number of available
seats, a waiting list will be established. Students on a waiting list
will be notified if space becomes available. No student who remains
on a waiting list can attend class.

Register online,
fax or mail in your completed registration form with full payment to: Division of Graduate Professional Studies, Brandeis University, 415 South Street, MS 084, Waltham, MA 02454-9110, or submit your form and payment in person at the Division of Graduate Professional Studies. Please note that registration must be accompanied by full payment, including the non refundable registration fee, to be considered complete. Students will be sent a financial statement as confirmation of payment and registration. Please keep this for your financial and/or tax records. Students will be charged $15 for a replacement copy.
Payment Information
Personal check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express or Electronic Bank Draft are all acceptable forms of payment. Students must be prepared to pay tuition in full. Student registration will not be considered complete unless full payment of tuition and fees is received. Students anticipating financial aid or reimbursement through their company must still make payments when registering. See the financial
information section of our website for tuition and fees. PLEASE NOTE: Students paying via Credit Card will see their payment reflected on the SAGE account after 48 hours. A Returned Check Fee of $25 will be charged if a payment is returned due to insufficient funds.
Late Registration
Students may register late, on a space-available basis, during the
opening week of classes. A $60 late registration fee will be assessed in addition
to the registration fee.
Withdrawal/Dropping a Course
Students can drop a course at any time prior to the 10th class meeting. Failure to attend a class does not constitute a drop. Course drop forms are available online or from the Division of Graduate Professional Studies and must be signed by the student, the course instructor and the continuing studies program manager. Course Add/Drop Forms can be downloaded from our web site. Refer to the tuition refund policy and schedule below.
Refund Schedule for Tuition
- Withdrawal before the first class meeting: 100% of tuition
- Withdrawal before the second class meeting: 75% of tuition
- Withdrawal after the second class meeting: NO REFUND
Distance Learning courses follow a similar Refund Schedule as above. As Distance Learning courses typically begin on the first Wednesday of each term, the refund schedule for Distance Learning courses is as follows:
- Withdrawal before the first Wednesday of the term 100%
- Withdrawal between the first Wednesday and following Tuesday during the term 75%
- Withdrawal on or after the 2nd Wednesday of the term - no refund
- Registration, Lab and Technology fees are non-refundable
Please note that course registration fees, late course registration fees,
lab & course material fees are not refunded.
Health Forms - Immunizations and Health Insurance
Full-time students (those registered for at least three courses in a single
term) must include adequate proof of immunization against measles, mumps, rubella,
and tetanus-diphtheria during the registration period. Full-time students are
required to provide proof of health insurance coverage before attending the
first class session. Both health
and insurance
forms can be found online.
