Info for Faculty and Staff

As some staff and faculty have returned to campus, and as others continue to work remotely, workspaces and interactions are different from what they were before COVID-19.

Faculty and staff are expected to adhere to required health and safety guidelines established by the university and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as are our students, and we should remember we are all responsible for protecting each other. Learn more about health and safety information.

Our plans to reduce COVID-19 transmission and keep Brandeis open for an in-person learning and living experience for students depends upon the entire community adhering to stringent social distancing, personal hygiene, and wellness protocols, including completing the Daily Health Assessmentsubmitting regular testing samples, and following proper mask-wearing protocols.

All faculty and staff are expected to fully comply — and model compliance — with the protocols outlined or referenced in the Campus Scaling Up Guide and Policy (pdf) as part of Brandeis’ workplace expectations. Faculty and staff who violate any of the requirements of this policy may lose their ability to come to campus and be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the Conduct Standards and Corrective Action Policy and/or the Faculty Handbook.

Transparency and Communication

A lot may change in the coming months, between continued transmission of the virus, more contagious variants of the virus being found, and the vaccine becoming more widely available. Every member of our resilient community should be ready to adjust in order to address new concerns should they unexpectedly arise.

We are committed to keeping you up-to-date with any necessary changes as they happen. You can see a snapshot of the university’s testing numbers on our COVID-19 Dashboard, which is updated regularly based on our daily testing data and state data. We also will continue to communicate policy or protocol changes to all members of the Brandeis community.
