About the Event

Join the Office of Study Abroad and the Environmental Studies program to chat with Brandeis alumni, Ione Hughes ’19, Allison Marill ’17, and Hannah Stewart ‘18.

Ione graduated from Brandeis with majors in environmental studies and politics and a minor in legal studies. As a junior, she studied abroad on the SIT/ Madagascar: Biodiversity and Natural Resource Management program. As a student, she was a Study Abroad Ambassador, Orientation Leader, a member of SCRAM, office assistant at IBS and research assistant for Harvard Forest with Professor Brian Donahue. Since graduating from Brandeis, Ione has held a series of roles, including program coordinator for the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act, program coordinator for an energy efficiency consulting company, and began her current role as a program coordinator for the Massachusetts Division of Ecological Restoration (DER) in October 2020.

Allison graduated from Brandeis with majors in environmental studies and economics. As a junior, she studied abroad on the DIS/ Copenhagen program. As a student, she was a co-founder of the Brandeis Rooftop Farm and the president of the Farmers Club. She was also a co-founder of the undergraduate Net Impact chapter and participated in the Environmental Health and Justice JBS program. Since graduating from Brandeis, Allison spent a year interning at the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies in Israel, and since returning began her work as an ESG analyst at Institutional Shareholder Services, where she assesses companies' non-financial performance on material social and environmental challenges.

Hannah graduated from Brandeis with majors in environmental studies and HSSP and a minor in English. As a junior, she studied abroad on the DIS/ Copenhagen program. As a student, she was president of the Ballroom Dance Club, founding treasurer of the Farmers Club and the Rooftop Farm, and a TA for Fundamentals of Environmental Challenges and Atmospheric Civics & Diplomacy: World.
