A virtual hub for career resources

The CSE's high-touch approach has been adapted to a virtual career platform to centralize resources and maintain close ties with students across countries and time zones.

The Career Strategies and Engagement Center (CSE) at Brandeis International Business School has launched CSE Connect, an innovative new career platform that equips students around the world with personalized career resources.

The CSE is known for its high-touch approach, collaborating with each student to develop personalized career goals and strategies. With a shift to virtual learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, staff at the CSE quickly identified the need for a virtual career platform to centralize resources and maintain close ties with students across countries and time zones.

CSE Connect was built in partnership with uConnect, the creators of the first all-in-one virtual career center.

“Now more than ever, empowering our community with exceptional online career support is essential to our mission,” said Frank Fessenden, executive director of corporate relations at the International Business School. “Partnering with uConnect has helped bring that vision to life. With CSE Connect, our students, whether they are on campus or across the globe, now have highly-individualized support on their path to success.”

CSE Connect provides a centralized hub for students to access the CSE’s robust career support and resources as well as explore Communities based on academic programs and industry interests. These Communities are organized into dynamic, digital pages aligned to each International Business School degree program as well as potential career paths, such as “Consulting,” “Finance” and “Data and Business Analytics,” with the goal of providing students a clear path for self-directed engagement and exploration.

CSE Connect will complement, not replace, the department's live and Zoom-based career coaching and career-related events.

Community pages are continuously updated with a stream of jobs, internships and events from Handshake, industry guides from Vault and curated news from content providers like Springboard and The Muse. CSE resources, including resume templates, recruitment guides and important updates, are tagged to each Community so students can easily access the information that matters most to them. Students are able to schedule advising appointments with their Career Coaches and Community Experts and identify networking opportunities with alumni and peers. They can also access external resources, such as BigInterview, CQ Interactive and Workmaze, directly from the platform.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Brandeis International Business School to create their virtual career center,” said uConnect CEO David Kozhuk. “We look forward to a long partnership, helping to connect students with the invaluable career support and resources available to the International Business School community.”

CSE Connect is geared towards current students, while also providing comprehensive information for alumni, employers and Brandeis community members. The open-access structure of CSE Connect also allows prospective students to browse the abundant career development supports that would be available to them as a student.
