Rebecah Kennedy ’22, MA’23: Helping minority-owned businesses thrive

‘Being a child of immigrants from Jamaica and Haiti, I want to help my community grow as much as possible’

Rebecah Kennedy ’22, MA’23: I chose the International Business School because I have an entire team here that is willing to support me with all of my future business goals and my future career goals.

Hi, my name is Rebecah Kennedy and I'm a student in the MA program.

Being a child of immigrants from Jamaica and Haiti, I want to help my community grow as much as possible.

And one of the ways I can do that is helping minority businesses who have been previously disenfranchised grow, whether that be through business strategies or finances.

Business school has really just helped me connect what I learn in a classroom to what I learn in the real world and be able to balance both of them out.

I have professors who reach out to me about opportunities that they think would be great for me.

Their office hours are not only for understanding the material, but also for talking about what you want to do post-Brandeis and how they can better help support you.

You're going to Brandeis to build a community and to have a lifelong connection. It's really a family here at the business school.
