Non-Benefits-Eligible Faculty and Staff
Below are the new leave plans for various life events.
Please note that all benefits have a 7-calendar day waiting period. During this time, you should use your sick time; if no sick time is available, you may use your personal or vacation time.
Coverage for your own medical leave
You may use your sick leave during the first week to receive 100% pay.
From weeks 2-20, you will receive 80% pay up to a max of $1,129.82* through the private MAPFML plan benefit. Employees with work related injuries may receive workers’ compensation benefits first, and the amount of workers’ compensation benefits will be deducted from the MAPFML plan benefit on a weekly basis.
