Who We Are

Larry M. Lewellen
Interim, Vice President Human Resources

  • Responsible for the human resources function at Brandeis University, including but not limited to policies, benefit programs, compensation programs, recruiting/hiring/onboarding, HR training, labor and employee relations, operation of the HRIS system and relevant data, performance culture and well-being of employees.
  • All of the Directors in Human Resources and specific administrative staff report to the VPHR.
Giovanna Abeiga
Executive Administrator
  • The Executive Administrative role reports to and serves the needs of the Vice President HR.
  • The Executive Administrative role is also designated in an office management role as the VPHR designee for office budget management, office operations, office-wide communication process internally and with the university campus.
  • This role also serves as a resource to consult on matters being brought to OHR, whom to access, access to the VPHR and other HR resource advice.

Shilpa Shrestha
HR Coordinator

  • Responsible, in conjunction with Recruitment & Talent Coordinator, for managing overall employment verifications and I-9/Visa process.
  • Assists with on-boarding tasks for new employees, including faculty and post-docs.
  • Responsible for front desk coverage, including fielding commonly asked questions regarding HR policies and procedures and answering general HR queries.
  • Assists with Pre-College summer programs and temporary employees not in Pre-College Programs for Brandeis temporary employee hiring.
  • For agency temporary hiring, works with departments and agencies to facilitate hiring and initiates assignments, screens candidates.
