Easier Access to Course Materials through Interlibrary Loan and Scan on Demand
We are pleased to announce some important enhancements to our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and Scan on Demand services.Enhanced Interlibrary loan:
- You can now request textbooks and required reading materials, even if they are currently on reserve.
- While we cannot guarantee the availability of every requested textbook, we will make every effort to fulfill your request.
Recall Notices:
- Occasionally, lending libraries may recall a textbook for their own patrons. If this occurs, we will promptly notify you, and the book will be due back within two weeks.
- Please be aware that failing to return a recalled textbook within the specified two-week timeframe will result in a non-refundable replacement fee, as determined by the lending library.
- In case of unforeseen emergencies preventing you from returning the textbook on time, please reach out to ill@brandeis.edu as soon as possible.
Improved Scan on Demand Service:
- When classes are not in session, you may request scans of chapters from books on reserve.
- To request scans of chapters from reserve items, please ensure that your requests are made no later than 3 PM on the Friday before classes start.
As always, please be mindful of copyright limitations when making scan requests.
These updates aim to provide you with greater accessibility and convenience in obtaining the materials you need. Should you have any questions or require assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us at ill@brandeis.edu. We're here to support your research and academic success!
