Awards
Endowed funds provide prizes at Commencement based upon academic excellence in specific fields. Below is the only one requiring an application.
Ruth Nessel Gollan Prize in Hebrew Language or Literature
Given to an undergraduate student (or split between students) who has/have exhibited high scholastic achievement, completed at least one semester of Hebrew study and plans to enroll in any of the following: a fall or spring semester Hebrew program at an accredited university in Israel, an accredited university summer program in Israel or in the U.S. such as the School of Hebrew at Middlebury College, or at any accredited online Hebrew program.
Through the generosity of the Ruth Nessel Gollan Memorial Fund, annual scholarship awards may be available for the supplemental study of Hebrew. Any undergraduate student who has completed at least one semester of Hebrew at Brandeis University is eligible for this stipend which will be put towards the cost of enrollment in a Hebrew program at an accredited University. There the chosen student will pursue a program of study in Hebrew that focuses on the language and/or literature.
Please include two letters of reference, one of which should be written by an instructor of Hebrew. Documents of acceptance from the university will be required.
