Bruce Rains, PhD

Chair, Information Technology Management

Senior Director of Managed Services, AppDirect

Bruce brings nearly 25 years of technology experience to this role, including significant leadership tenures at industry leaders such as Disney and EY. His professional expertise spans a wide range of disciplines, including systems engineering, cybersecurity, service operations, and cloud technologies. He currently serves as the Senior Director of Managed Services for AppDirect, where he leads technology enablement and AI-driven initiatives to enhance customer experiences.

In addition to his professional background, Bruce has served as an Adjunct Professor at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He earned his PhD in Information Technology with a concentration in Cybersecurity from the University of the Cumberlands in 2024.
