Instructions for Completing CITI Program Online Training for Biosafety (Refresher)

  1. Direct your web browser to www.citiprogram.org and log into your account. There are options to retrieve a forgotten username or to re-create a password, if needed.

  2. Under "Main Menu/My Courses," select "Add Course" and make selections based on the following:

    • Question 1: Do not select anything.

    • Question 2: Do not select anything.

    • Question 3: Do not select anything.

    • Question 4: Do not select anything.

    • Question 5: Select "Basic Introduction to Biosafety" and all other courses that apply to your research focus.

    • Question 6: Do not select anything.

    • Question 7: Do not select anything.

  3. Click "Submit."

  4. On the next page, you will see a list of the training modules you will need to complete. Inside each module is a selection of lessons. Read the material and then take the quiz at the end of each lesson. Once all lessons in a module have been completed with a passing score (85% or higher), the module will be marked "Completed," and a report will be automatically sent to the Office of Research Administration. You must complete all of the modules and lessons in order for your online training to be complete.

  5. The CITI training website will keep track of the lessons and modules that you have successfully completed, so you can sign in and out as often as you would like.
