Office of the Provost

Mentoring and Professional Development

Brandeis has made a special commitment to provide faculty with a range of mentoring resources. The Academic Deans, Department Chairs and Provost Office personnel provide pre-tenure faculty with dedicated mentors and access to other professional development resources that will foster their success and well-being here at Brandeis.
  • Senior Mentor is assigned from the Academic Dean in consultation with the School Council for each pre-tenure faculty member.
  • Chairs of each Department/Program serve as important mentors for junior faculty within their department or program.
  • Peer Mentors may also be requested by new faculty, and the Academic Dean will work with Academic Leadership to identify a mentor from outside of your home department or program.
  • The Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs is also organizing mentoring resources in the Provost Office, assisting in scheduling workshops, and hosting discussion.  Other members of the Provost Office (Provost, Vice Provosts, Assistant Provosts) are available to provide mentoring related to undergraduate education, graduate education, research activities and tenure and promotion review.
