Faculty Affairs
The Provost Faculty Affairs team is dedicated to assisting faculty throughout their careers at Brandeis. We oversee hiring, on-boarding, mentoring, reappointment, tenure, promotion, and contracts for all Brandeis Faculty, while also supporting faculty research and professional development. We are charged with constructing multi-year hiring plans for each of our schools while establishing and revising new and existing faculty-based institutional policies.
Our office is responsible for both ensuring policy compliance and advocating for faculty rights. We work transparently with our partners in Human Resources, Office of Research Administration, and the Center for Teaching and Learning to provide faculty with support for their work on campus and their lives outside of the classroom. In addition, it is our mission to support shared governance by ensuring that our Faculty Handbook is followed, that all committees are filled, and that faculty are appropriately engaged with the running of our university.
We are available for virtual or in-person consultations on any question that pertains to faculty careers. Even if we do not handle a particular question, we can make sure that all faculty are directed to the correct office for their needs.
