Next Steps for ScholarWorks: Cutoff for Entering Faculty Guide Information in Sage

Feb. 18, 2022

Dear Faculty,

Progress continues on the new ScholarWorks Faculty Profiles! In March, Sage information will be moved into ScholarWorks profiles. This major step requires a cutoff point for Faculty Guide updates made through Sage. Monday, Feb. 28, will be the last day that updates made in Sage will be captured for migration into the new profiles. If you enter information into Sage after Feb. 28, you may have to re-enter that information in ScholarWorks.

Following are additional key dates for the transition to ScholarWorks:

Ongoing
Smart harvesting of publications.

Feb. 28
Cutoff for Sage faculty data entry (data entered in Sage after Feb. 28, will not be imported to ScholarWorks).

March 1-31
Sage data is migrated to ScholarWorks. Faculty complete the Faculty Activity Report in Workday (details forthcoming).

Mid-April
Data submitted on Faculty Activity Reports migrated to ScholarWorks.

Late April
Faculty may begin reviewing and editing their ScholarWorks profiles!

Mid-May
ScholarWorks Faculty Profiles go live and the current Faculty Guide is retired.

As a reminder, creating and connecting an ORCID iD increases the likelihood that the smart harvesting process will populate scholarship in ScholarWorks. Please take the ORCID iD Challenge by creating an ORCID iD by Feb. 28! If you already have an ORCID iD, make sure it’s connected to your ScholarWorks profile. More information and instructions can be found here.

You may find that when you click on your current ScholarWorks profile, the scholarship information is incomplete or the overview information is badly formatted. These are simply placeholders, and do not reflect your most recent data. Please continue to hold off on updating any of this right now, while the harvesting and migration processes are running. If you make updates to your profile, there is a possibility that they will be overwritten as migration from Sage takes place. We will follow up to confirm when profiles are ready for review.
