Introducing BrandeisSafe
The BrandeisSafe App is currently being implemented and NOT YET ACTIVE. More information and download/setup instructions will be posted on this page as they become available.
At Brandeis, your safety is our highest priority. To further enhance campus security, we are excited to introduce a new mobile safety app: BrandeisSafe. This app, which will become available during the summer, will allow you to quickly and easily connect with Brandeis Public Safety from your phone, anywhere on campus.
With nearly every student carrying a mobile phone, BrandeisSafe offers a seamless, real-time way to access safety services. This modern tool reflects our ongoing commitment to student well-being and aligns with national best practices in campus safety.
Like many colleges and universities across the country, Brandeis is phasing out traditional blue light emergency phones. These older systems require locating a fixed phone, which can delay emergency response. In contrast, BrandeisSafe provides real-time GPS data to our dispatch center when the emergency button is pressed. The app also includes helpful features like “safety walks,” which allow you to share your location with a trusted contact who will be notified if you don’t arrive at your destination on time.
You can, as always, dial 911 from your phone at any time to reach emergency services. Brandeis Public Safety works closely with the Waltham Police Department to ensure that emergency calls are routed appropriately.
We’ll be sharing more details about BrandeisSafe over the summer, including how to download and use the app. We’re confident this new tool will further strengthen the safety and support we provide to the Brandeis community.
