Motor Vehicle Permits

Parking permits are issued to students, staff, faculty and other community members. Permits are issued for students for the Academic year 9/1 - 5/31 and on a 3 year rotation for Faculty/Staff.

Faculty and Staff

All university employees who would like to park their car in a campus lot must register their vehicle. Parking permits are issued in person from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday (closed for lunch 12p-1p) in the Stoneman Building.

Students

All students must have a parking decal visible on their vehicles at all times on their vehicles. Students that do not purchase a decal or temporary pass cannot park on campus at any time, including the weekends. Students may apply for a motor vehicle permit at the beginning of the school year. Only resident seniors may have a vehicle on campus. Juniors may appeal for a parking pass by completing the following Non-Medical Appeal Form. All commuter students are eligible to apply for a motor vehicle parking permit.

Visitors

All visitors must have a parking pass. Visitor passes may be obtained at the Parking Office in the Stoneman building during business hours or after business hours from Public Safety Dispatch center. Guests are encouraged to register in advance to improve the efficiency of issuing parking passes. Please click Visitor Parking Pass.

Out-of-State Students

Massachusetts requires all non-resident (i.e., out of state) students operating a motor vehicle to either register the vehicle in the Commonwealth (display Massachusetts registration plates) or display a nonresident permit. Public Safety will issue a nonresident permit along with the motor vehicle permit at no additional charge. The owner of the vehicle must maintain Massachusetts-mandated insurance coverage of the vehicle

Instructions to obtain nonresident permit:

Download and complete the Nonresident Student Driver Statement (pdf).
Return the form to the Parking Office in the Stoneman Building. A decal will be issued that remains in effect for as long as you are a Brandeis student.

Permit Regulations

Parking regulations are in effect from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday- Friday, except for university holidays. University holidays are those recognized as staff holidays. If staff is here, even if classes are not in session, parking rules are in effect. Overnight parking from 2-7 a.m. is prohibited in faculty and staff lots.

Notice

If you have a balance due for any outstanding citations, you cannot get a new permit until your balance is paid in full. You may pay any outstanding citations through the Brandeis Parking Services web portal. You can now pay parking tickets online by using a credit card.
