Department of Student Rights and Community Standards

Student Conduct Board

Please know that Student Conduct Board members will have limited availability during breaks and holidays.  Should you require a response during those times, please contact Student Rights and Community Standards at dsrcs@brandeis.edu.

The Department of Student Rights and Community Standards aims to educate the campus about issues central to the mission of the institution, and to react to inappropriate behavior in a fair and responsive manner. Our office provides education and outreach efforts regarding alcohol and other drug use, student involvement on campus and leadership development.

The student conduct process is based on established expectations and standards of behavior at Brandeis as described in rights and responsibilities, and also relies on a peer judgment model. At the heart of this process is the student conduct board which allows Brandeis students, going through the conduct process, the opportunity to have their case heard before a panel of their peers, staff and faculty.

Additionally, the student conduct board serves as a resource for students who might have questions, concerns, or reservations regarding the student conduct process. Each board member is knowledgeable about students rights, responsibilities, resolution options and potential conduct outcomes.
