Barbara Sander, a licensed clinical social worker, was a family therapist with Jewish Family and Children's Service of St. Louis. She earlier worked in the Parkway School District and was director of program quality at Parents as Teacher's National Center. She joined the Board of Trustees by virtue of her election as president of the Brandeis National Committee in 2013 and was re-elected as a full trustee in 2017. She has been president of BNC's chapter's in St. Louis and Sarasota, sat on the National Executive Committee and served as vice president for leadership development. Barbara is deeply involved with the Fine Arts Society of Sarasota and the Jewish Federation of Sarasota/Manatee, and is a board member of the Chair of Docents for art tours at Van Wezel, a theater in Sarasota.
She received her BA from Brown University in 1964 and her MSW from Washington University in St. Louis in 1966.
