Lewin C. Wright '84

Lewin Wright majored in computer science at Brandeis. He was commissioned a Naval officer in 1985, working his way up the ranks, and assumed command of the USS Constitution – the world's oldest commissioned naval warship still afloat known famously as “Old Ironsides” – in the summer of 2003. He has served on the staffs of the Chief of Naval Research, the Chief of Naval Operations and of the Secretary of Defense. His focus in these roles was on the research and development of advanced technology. Wright earned a Master's of Business Administration from Benedictine College. He also studied at the National Defense University where he earned a Master's of Science in National security strategy. Over the years, he has stayed close with Brandeis, serving on the Alumni Board from 2007 to 2010.
