Susie Rivo

Susie Rivo is an independent documentary filmmaker. She received a BA in Peace and Conflict Studies from UC Berkeley in 1990 and an MFA in Cinema Production from San Francisco State University in 2002. Her award-winning film, AMY, screened at over 20 film festivals, including Sundance, and was broadcast on several PBS stations, including WNET (NYC) and KQED (San Francisco). She is currently producing and directing LEFT ON PEARL, a feature documentary about the 1971 women's takeover and occupation of a Harvard University-owned building that led to the establishment of the longest continuously operating Women's Center in the U.S.

Current Projects

With fellow Visiting Scholar, Rochelle Ruthchild, I will work on completing the documentary film, Left on Pearl, developing a multimedia study guide/curriculum to expand on this historical event and its context, and creating an interactive online archive of video clips from the film for classroom and public use.
