2008 Fund Recap
In 2008, the Office of Global Affairs and the Office of the Provost provided a limited amount of seed funding to encourage the development of initiatives with the goal of enhancing the development of Brandeis as a global institution.
The Global Brandeis Fund was designed to support innovative efforts that stimulate a future-oriented, collaborative approach to the global dimension of the university. Those efforts focused on building sustainable relationships -- those with partners abroad and those across schools and units on campus. Each project team worked with the Office of Global Affairs to develop long-term, strategic goals for these relationships.
The first Request for Proposals (RFPs) was sent to the campus community in January 2008, covering calendar year 2008 projects. In total, 10 projects were selected for funding during this first year:
Brandeis-Hong-Kong Aging Research Exchange
Colloquium on Transnational Family Theory and Methods
