The 30-credit Digital Innovation for FinTech program has seven required courses and three electives. Required courses provide students with a focused education surrounding fundamental topics in the field, while electives build upon specific professional skillsets and allow students to enrich and round out their studies.

Digital Innovation for FinTech applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • An undergraduate degree in any field with some coursework in general finance or economics. (Students who do not meet this requirement will need to complete a free online course.)
  • At least some basic experience with a programming language.

Digital Innovation for FinTech

Meet our featured faculty

Our FinTech faculty understand the nuances and challenges of the industry today. As startup founders, financial services innovators and active working professionals, they structure their GPS curriculum to draw on real-world expertise and connections. Faculty members include:

  • Sarah Biller is a senior level executive with experience building innovative technology platforms at pioneering start-ups and high growth companies. She is the head of Innovation Ventures at State Street. Sarah co-founded the FinTech Sandbox and sits on the Advisory Boards of multiple start-ups. She is currently teaching Fintech: The Evolution of Technology for Financial Services.

  • Stephen Finocchio is a Managing Director in State Street's Global Treasury division where he leads a quantitative modeling team in the Capital Management function. Prior to that, Stephen was a lead consultant in State Street's Corporate Strategy group. Between 1995 and 2010, Stephen rose through State Street's structured finance division working with banks and other financial services companies throughout the US and globally to improve their capital structure. He is currently teaching Analysis for Professionals: Financial Reporting in the Digital Age.
  • Michael Storiale is the Vice President, Digital Banking Manager for Guilford Savings Bank where he develops, implements and manages all customer-facing technology. His responsibilities span the Bank's digital properties, including online and mobile banking, digital acquisition channels, the corporate Website, voice response unit and the call center. He is currently teaching The New Economy: Global Disruption and the Emergence of FinTech.
