New Transfer Student Registration Information

Welcome to Brandeis!

As a transfer student you've already had the experience of registering for college classes so you should approach the registration process a bit differently than a first-semester freshman.

The Office of the University Registrar has already been in contact with you and you should have received your transfer credit evaluation. Please review your evaluation carefully to understand the number of course credits you will receive as a transfer student.

The evaluation will also indicate which general university requirements you have fulfilled and which you will need to complete in order to receive your degree from Brandeis. Some transfer students are required to take the University Writing Seminar (UWS) if they have not received transfer credit for this requirement. As this is a first-year requirement at Brandeis you will want to enroll in a UWS course in your first semester if you did not receive credit for it. (For transfer students entering in the Fall term, to enter your UWS selections, you must log on to sage to enter your class selections through the "Required Seminar Pre-Selection" link before June 28.)

Your transfer credit evaluation will be revised once the Office of the University Registrar receives your final grade reports/transcripts from your prior school(s). You may also be eligible for additional transfer credit if you have acceptable AP or IB examination scores.

If you will be claiming your exam scores for credit, it is important to note any Brandeis course equivalents. Should you enroll in the equivalent course, course credit for the examinations will be revoked.

If you have any question about your transfer credit status, please contact Irene Widugiris

Please review the Registration Handbook for important information about the registration process, policies and procedures. While some of this information may not be applicable to you based on your specific entering class level (second-semester freshman, sophomore, junior) the majority of the information will be relevant.
