FACET Grant Opportunity

Through the generosity of donors, a monetary grant is available to faculty to learn hands-on skills to make their course materials more accessible.

Did you know that text posted to LATTE is not readable by the screen-reading software that many students use due to a visual or a print disability such as dyslexia? The goal of this grant program is to increase faculty skills in creating and posting accessible materials and including captions for students who may be hard of hearing.

The Freishtat Accessible Course Excellence in Teaching Grants (FACET) grant is open by application to all full-time and part-time faculty and is delivered as a partnership with the Center for Teaching and Learning. Accessible course texts can be read by text-to-speech software and include readings, LATTE site, presentation slides, videos and graphics. Accessible course media includes captioning for all video, feature film as well as lecture videos posted to LATTE.

Application Deadline: December 20.
