The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Fellowship is awarded to entering first-year students on the basis of academic performance and extracurricular participation in secondary school, outstanding community involvement and demonstrated financial need.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Fellows are interested in all disciplines. Approximately 10 students receive the scholarship each year. Recipients of the fellowship are expected to continue the tradition of giving back and leadership in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through community service opportunities. Past projects include helping to clean the Charles River, volunteering for a haunted hayride for local children, and collecting donations for Cradles to Crayons.

Selection Process

Primary consideration in the application is given to academic performance and community involvement. There is no application for this scholarship beyond the admission application, FAFSA, and the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE.
