Merle Carrus

Merle Eisman Carrus, P’12, served as National president from 2020 to 2025. A life member of BNC, Merle leads the Greater Boston chapter’s Female Detectives study group. Merle is a graduate of Emerson College and has a master’s in Jewish studies from Hebrew College. She began her career working at WGBH-TV in Boston.

Mindy Frankel

Mindy is a past president of the Santa Clara Valley, California, chapter and has served on the BNC National board since 2020. She has a degree in organizational psychology from UC Berkeley and worked in human resources and marketing for numerous high technology companies, the last being Digital Equipment Corporation.

Madalyn Friedberg

Madalyn has served on the National board since 2013 and as National president from 2016 to 2020. She is a member of the Brandeis Board of Trustees. A BNC member since 1973, she is treasurer of the Central Westchester chapter. Madalyn earned a degree in nutrition from Syracuse University and worked as a consulting dietitian in long-term care facilities for 50 years.

Ronald Levy

Ron served as BNC’s Board of Directors VP from 2018 to 2021. He is a member of the Greater Boston chapter, a University Fellow, and a member of the Brandeis Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (BOLLI), for which he has served as Advisory Council Chair. Ron has a BS in civil engineering from the University of London and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He was an international management consultant for 37 years, working with Arthur D. Little, Inc. and Navigant Consulting.

Nancy Sacks

Nancy served on the National board of directors from 2016 to 2017 and has held leadership positions in the Phoenix chapter including co-president, programming co-chair, and summer camp director from 2016 to 2022. She holds a BA in English and Political Science and an MBA in Finance from New York University, and worked as an International Investment banker. Nancy is an active member of the Foreign Credit Association and Women’s Financial Association.

Andrew Tievsky

Andrew is a general board member of the Phoenix chapter, where he runs three study groups. He has served on the National board since 2023. A native of Bethesda/Chevy Chase, Maryland, Andrew served as president of the Jacobi Medical Society of Washington and Phi Delta Epsilon Graduate Medical Fraternity before joining the Cleveland Clinic in 2003. He currently practices teleradiology full time as a neuroradiologist in Scottsdale, AZ. He holds an MD from George Washington University and received his postgraduate training in St Louis and Boston.

Iris Wigal

Iris served on the National board as National Vice President of Membership from 2011 to 2015. She has held leadership positions in the Phoenix chapter including president, executive vice president, nominating committee chair, and book and author co-chair. She is a retired educator.
