I chose Brandeis International Business School because of its strong focus on global finance, its rigorous academic curriculum and its emphasis on preparing students for careers in the financial industry. Coming from a country where the investment market is underdeveloped, I was eager to gain exposure to advanced financial systems, cutting-edge investment practices and a network of professionals actively shaping the global economy. Additionally, the International Business School’s strong network of alumni and its location near Boston provided valuable opportunities to connect with leading financial firms and industry professionals.
The MSF program at the International Business School is dynamic and globally focused. The program combines rigorous academic training in financial theory and quantitative analysis with practical applications to real-world challenges. With a curriculum that spans key areas like Corporate Finance & Valuation, Asset Management, Risk Management and FinTech, students gain the tools they need to thrive in various financial roles. The program’s small class sizes, diverse student body and faculty expertise foster a collaborative learning environment that prepares graduates to make an impact in global financial markets.
My time at Brandeis was instrumental in preparing me for my career by providing a perfect blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. The rigorous classes, including but not limited to Corporate Finance, Portfolio Financial Modeling, Fixed Income Securities and Options and Derivatives, laid a solid foundation in financial theory and quantitative analysis.
Beyond academics, the networking events organized by the Career Strategies and Engagement Center were transformative. These events connected me with industry professionals, Brandeis alumni and potential employers, offering invaluable insights into the finance world and expanding my professional network. The combination of academic excellence and career-oriented opportunities at Brandeis gave me the confidence and skills to excel in the competitive finance industry.
I was a member of the Real Estate Investment Club and Global Markets Investment Club, where we managed a portion of Brandeis University’s endowment. Being part of these clubs allowed me to apply theoretical concepts from my coursework to real-world investment decisions. This experience was incredibly valuable as it enhanced my understanding of portfolio management, market analysis and teamwork, preparing me for a career in finance and investments.
Networking! Networking! Networking! It isn’t just about meeting people — it’s about building meaningful relationships. Start with: 1) Professors and alumni: They’ve been in your shoes and can offer invaluable advice and connections. 2) Your peers: You’re surrounded by future industry leaders. Collaborate, share ideas and grow together. 3) Industry Events: Attend conferences, Industry Treks or company presentations to gain insights and create a presence in your chosen field.
