One of SPARK Tank's winners.

Congratulations to the three teams with Brandeis International Business School students and alumni who won grants in SPARK Tank 2018, a Brandeis pitch competition for $50,000 in startup funding sponsored by the Hassenfeld Family Innovation Center.

A.I. Capital Management, the grand prize winner, includes alumni and students who developed an investment strategy that uses artificial intelligence to identify and avoid emotional trading patterns in asset markets. Team members are Marshall Chang, BA/MA’17; Joyce Yu, MA’18; Yuwen Han MSF’17; Yuwei Lin LSF’18, and undergraduate Zhengyang Zhou. (Chang is also the subject of a Brandeis Profile in Innovation.)

The two other winning teams with Brandeis members were GreenChoice, a grocery shopping tool that helps consumers evaluate food products for things like animal welfare practices, corporate sustainability and transparency; and Latam Biz, an SaaS platform that connects startups from Latin America with investors all over the world.

The GreenChoice team includes Galen Karlan-Mason, MBA’17, and Rafael Martins Guimaraes, MBA’18. Fernando Aguilera, MBA’18, and Juan Sebastian Zuluaga, MSF’18, are members of Latam Biz.
