The Global Gala is Brandeis International Business School’s annual cultural celebration.
Wangui Kamau, MBA’23 knew exactly what to wear at the Global Gala.
Kamau, who is from Kenya, chose a bright red robe called a shuka. She said red is an important color for her Maasai tribe that stands for courage, strength and unity.
Kamau was among dozens of Brandeis International Business School students to perform at the Global Gala, an annual cultural celebration showcasing fashion, dance and music from all corners of the world.
Joining Kamau on the fashion runway were students from across Latin America, Africa and Asia. Others
performed dance routines and played musical instruments. For Kamau, the event is emblematic of what makes the International Business School community special.
“Thanks to my classmates I’ve learned so much about different cultures,” said Kamau. “It’s allowed me to develop new skills, be a better leader and become a better person."
