Kayitz Kef/Hebrew@Camp Summer 2025!
After a well-deserved vacation, and after New Year celebrations, the leadership of the 36 camps that participated in this summer’s Kayitz Kef programming have been meeting with Kayitz Kef staff to reflect on the season. They are sharing successes, challenges, photos, and videos.
We are thrilled to report that this was not only the largest summer ever for Kayitz Kef, but also its most diverse and most successful. Camps from New Jersey to North Carolina, from the Berkshires to Berkeley, and from Pepper Pike, Ohio to Palo Alto, California discovered countless creative ways to engage with the Hebrew language.
This year’s innovation micro-grants, provided by Kayitz Kef, sparked inspiring new initiatives: puppet theaters, petting zoos, Krav Maga classes, photography and cooking projects, and science adventures, all using Hebrew as a central part of the experience.
At the heart of Kayitz Kef is a deep commitment to building strong, joyful connections to both the Hebrew language and to Israel. Campers not only engaged with Hebrew in fun and meaningful ways, but also formed personal relationships with Israeli shlichim. These connections helped bring Israeli culture, spirit, and authenticity to life.
Thank you to the camp directors and assistant directors, Hebrew coordinators, local Hebrew-speaking teens, and Jewish Agency shlichim who made it all possible.
And thank you to the parents and campers who continue to value meaningful engagement with authentic, modern Hebrew and vibrant connections to Israel.
"During the year, our children attend a public school, so the opportunity to be immersed in Hebrew and surrounded by Israeli culture was especially empowering for them. For us as a family, in today’s daily reality, the program truly provided a sense of home and belonging." ~ Kayitz Kef 2025 Parent
