How-To-Make-A-Poster-Poster

The Digital Scholarship Lab has a new poster! Natalie used her recent peer-reviewed publication to model effective poster design for Brandeis students. The poster walks viewers through her digital archaeology project, which combines GIS, archaeological survey, archaeological and historical data, and text analysis to measure the changing visual prominence of the Argive Heraion Sanctuary in the Peloponnese. Natalie purposefully selected different types of graphics and visualizations so that Brandeis students can observe new ways to present their work on a poster.

The key takeaway: void pasting your whole essay on the poster! You're likely going to be standing next to the poster at the confererence, don't stress about cutting text. Aim for a visually appealing design with a lot of thoughtful graphics. Once people are drawn in, they can ask you questions.

The poster was created in Canva. Brandeis community members are welcome to download a PDF copy for learning purposes. Or, come to the DS Lab to check it out! Read the full publication here.
