Bioprocessing and Biomanufacturing
Efficient bioprocessing and manufacturing are essential for the successful commercialization of biotech products. This course covers the essential principles of bioprocessing and biomanufacturing, from upstream cell culture to downstream purification and quality control. Students will explore topics such as bioreactor design, process optimization, and scale-up strategies. Emphasis will be placed on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory compliance in biologics production. Case studies from the pharmaceutical and industrial biotech sectors will provide insight into real-world production challenges. This course prepares students to oversee production processes and ensure regulatory compliance, critical for market success. Understanding these processes enables biotech leaders to drive cost-efficient and scalable production strategies.
