AI and Machine Learning in Drug Development

This course explores how artificial intelligence and machine learning are reshaping the discovery and development of new medicines, from small molecules to biologics and gene therapies. Students will encounter the full spectrum of machine learning approaches, from simple statistical models to deep neural networks, with each week introducing a new class of method and applying it to a different stage of the drug development pipeline. Throughout, students work with real tools and datasets to understand underlying algorithms, assumptions and limitations. No prior coding experience is required. The course is designed for students with biological or computational backgrounds, preparing them to contribute meaningfully to the cross-functional teams that drive modern drug development.
