Sheila Briggs

Sheila teaches theology and the history of theology at the University of Southern California. Sheila's research interests lie in feminist theology in the areas of nineteenth- and twentieth-century (German) theology, early Christianity, theories of history and modern liberation movements. Currently, Sheila is working on two projects. One is the relation of attitudes towards gender and attitudes towards the Jewish Torah in the writings of Paul, the first-century apostle. The other is looking at an ancient past that never happened except in the imagination of contemporary popular culture: the tv series Xena Warrior Princess.
