Academic accommodations
November 1, 2021
Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to ask for your support of students who have documented disabilities and who need academic accommodations. Federal law requires that accommodations should be granted to students in need. Access to learning for everyone through accommodations is an important part of a Brandeis education.
Whenever you have questions about an accommodation and how to best implement it given the nature of your class, we encourage you to contact Student Accessibility Support at access@brandeis.edu. Student Accessibility Support works with faculty, students and campus partners to find successful ways to reduce access barriers and is available to problem solve with you for any questions including if a specific accommodation fundamentally alters the pedagogical practices of your class.
Thank you for everything you have done to make the Fall semester an outstanding experience.
Sincerely,
Carol Fierke, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
Dorothy Hodgson, Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences
Wendy Cadge, Dean of the Graduate School or Arts and Sciences
Kathryn Graddy, Dean of the Brandeis International Business School
David Weil, Dean of the Heller School for Social Policy and Management
Lynne Rosansky, Vice President of the Rabb School
