Supporting The Brandeis Plan

Dear Colleagues,

Thank you for joining the recent Faculty and Staff Town Hall meetings. We appreciated the thoughtful questions and engagement from both faculty and staff. These conversations reflect our community’s deep commitment to Brandeis and to advancing the university’s mission together.

While the current environment in higher education poses areas of challenge for our institution, it also underscores the importance of our shared work to strengthen Brandeis for the future. The Brandeis Plan to Reinvent the Liberal Arts gives us a clear path forward—renewing our academic core, expanding applied and interdisciplinary learning, and preparing students not only for successful careers, but also for lives of meaning and contribution in the world.

Sustaining this vision requires collaboration across the university. Each of us plays a role in delivering on the Brandeis Plan, supporting fundraising efforts, and serving as ambassadors for our university’s distinct mission and impact. Together, we can continue to build on Brandeis’ strengths and manage these challenges with focus and optimism.

We have outlined briefly several areas where faculty and staff can support the goals of the Brandeis Plan. Below are suggestions for your involvement:

  • Collaborate across schools and departments to develop interdisciplinary programs and actualize the “One foot in the library, One foot in the street” analogy.

  • Play a role in identifying students who may be experiencing financial challenges or are considering transferring. Many faculty and staff are the front line in maintaining relationships with students and, therefore, strong student retention. If you know of a student who might benefit from academic or personal support please share it with the CARE team

  • Participate and volunteer for admissions events, sign up for admitted student events, faculty can welcome visiting students into classes, and all of us can share with prospective students what makes Brandeis so special.

  • Connect with the Marketing Communications team. Share your research, successes and your subject matter expertise with the team at news@brandeis.edu to help us amplify Brandeis’ reputation.

  • Support our institutional fundraising initiatives by identifying and cultivating potential prospects and being a part of the stewardship effort for those who show interest in our academic areas. To contact IA directly, please use this newly launched portal

Thank you for your partnership and commitment to our shared success.
