NE GWiSE
In 2017, Brandeis WiSI became affiliated with the regional women in science group New England Graduate Women in Science (NE GWiSE). WiSI is represented as a constituent of this allied group through our NE GWiSE representative and by holding board positions. Any graduate student in the Division of Sciences at Brandeis is eligible for NE GWiSE membership. We encourage WiSI members to join NE GWiSE; however, participation in both groups is not required.
NE GWiSE Mission Statement
NE GWiSE is an alliance between groups of graduate women in STEM from universities across New England. We are joining together to support and celebrate women-identified graduate students in STEM fields, increase awareness of the issues we face and create change within our community. We support ideas and actions to increase diverse representation of women in STEM departments, create fair and positive workplace environments, increase the support and mentorship women receive, and enact equitable university and federal policies.
Through advocacy, diversity, outreach efforts and networking opportunities, as well as collective actions and supporting developing GWISE groups, NE GWiSE works to advance policies and programs across New England to promote equality and improve the experience of graduate women. All members of the graduate community are welcome to become NE GWiSE members and attend our events.
