A New Leader for the Brandeis-Genesis Institute
The Brandeis-Genesis Institute for Russian Jewry is proud to announce that Mr. Victor Vitkin is joining the BGI as its executive director, effective March 1, 2011.
Victor Vitkin holds a B.A. from Herzen State University in St. Petersburg, an M.A. in communications and public relations from Hebrew University, and an M.B.A. with a focus in strategic management from Georgetown University. He was one of the founders and the second executive director of One Plus One, a community service and entrepreneur development program serving new immigrants in Israel. He later served as a senior emissary to Russian-speaking Jewry in North America for the Jewish Agency for Israel, in which capacity he developed and led educational programs, led international missions, conducted leadership training, and advised Jewish institutions on outreach strategy.
As executive director, Mr. Vitkin will provide front-line leadership for the program as a whole, including the development of BGI programming, recruiting Russian-speaking students to Brandeis University, and building connections to Russian-speaking Jewish communities around the United States and around the world.
