Jarnail Singh

A native of Bihar, India, Jarnail Singh is now a graduate student in the Sustainable International Development Program at Brandeis. He focuses on environmental and resource management.

“I traveled across India [for the past] three years, learning about different people and environments and different situations people live in, because we say “conserve the environment” but the environment cannot be conserved without a cost.  Trying to link those costs with benefits that environmental conservation brings to us is what I focus on.” More

Brandeis University has welcomed students and scholars from around the world since classes were first taught on its campus. Today, over 1,000 international students and scholars study, research and teach at Brandeis.

We believe that international students, faculty, researchers and staff enrich the educational environment throughout the university — whether it is in the classroom, the research laboratory, theater and music productions, its museum or just a casual interaction at a campus event. The world is, indeed, taught at Brandeis.
