Four-Year Timeline
Career Planning: Reflect, Explore and Connect (REC)
The Hiatt Career Center has outlined a plan for you so that you can check your progress toward your educational and career goals during your four years at Brandeis. The plan includes concrete suggestions like when and how to develop resumes and cover letters, as well as less specific suggestions such as activities to build leadership skills, should you be thinking about a career in politics or business, for example.
Because we think it is important to build upon experiences over time, Reflect, Explore and Connect, or REC, suggests goals and specific activities for each of your four years on campus. Although we hope you become aware of the plan during your first year, you can use and review this plan at any time. Please note that there are certain career paths that may require more advanced planning and preparation, such as medicine, law and finance, and particularly investment banking. If you are interested in these fields please make an appointment with Academic Services or Hiatt's pre-law or career counselors to learn more and to create a plan and timeline for achieving your goals.
