Faculty Development Workshops

Faculty workshops are available for:

1. Departments: working with thesis writers, how to address common problems in student writing, revision strategies for classes of any size, working with error, constructing arguments, critical reading and writing.

2. Individual classes: as needed, based on instructor's needs.

3. Inter-departmental faculty: by invitation, twice per term.

They also address issues of:

  1. How to incorporate revision into your classes without extra work for you

  2. Peer review exercises designed just for your class

  3. How to respond effectively and efficiently to student writing

  4. How to discuss writing in a Writing Intensive classroom without sacrificing content

  5. Designing effective assignments

  6. What is good writing? How do we know it when we see it? How do we inspire it?

  7. Which aspects of editing should we teach? How?

If you would like to attend a faculty workshop on any of the following topics, please email dawnskor@brandeis.edu to state your interest! Thanks.
