Brandeis University Student Madeline Leventhal '26 Recognized for Voter Registration, Education and Turnout Efforts in 2024

Madeline Leventhal '26 selected for 2025 national ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll

April 9, 2025

Maddie Leventhal honored by ALL INOn April 9, Brandeis University and the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge (ALL IN) honored student Madeline Leventhal as part of the fourth annual ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll. The 2025 ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll recognizes college students at participating campuses who have gone above and beyond to advance nonpartisan student voter registration, education and turnout efforts in their communities.

Leventhal is one of 232 students who mobilized their fellow students to make their voices heard in a historic election cycle. She, along with the other individuals honored, represent a diverse array of institutions and played a pivotal role in empowering their peers to make their voices heard, including Yoni Kahn '24 and Heller School, who was selected for the 2024 ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll and Maia Lefferman ’25, who was selected for the 2023 ALL IN Student Voting Honor Roll.

Leventhal helped Brandeis students register to vote and request absentee ballots at registration drives and campus events, coordinated with other members of the non-partisan VoteDeis Campus Coalition to organize and support debate watch parties, the visit of the Vote Goat and other events, and helped the Brandeis community get to the polls on election day with the Brandeis Vote Bus.

VoteDeis instagram post of Leventhal and students with the Brandeis Vote Bus"Maddie quickly became a key leader in VoteDeis," said David Weinstein, VoteDeis Coordinator and Assistant Director of ENACT: The Abraham Feinberg Educational Network for Active Civic Transformation. "She was just as eager to pitch in to assist others with their events (such as the visit of the VoteGoat!) as she was to step up to design and organize events. An effective community organizer, she demonstrated great wisdom with regard to how VoteDeis could be most effective as an organization. She provided nonpartisan support to everyone we could reach, without bias. Maddie is truly a Brandeis voter engagement superstar."

“Whether they hosted nonpartisan voter registration drives or early voting celebrations, the students honored today made sure their peers did not sleep in on Election Day,” said Jen Domagal-Goldman, Executive Director of the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge. “With 100,000 local elections happening across the country in 2025, ALL IN students continue to ensure that everyone on their campuses has the information they need to cast their ballot. The 232 Student Voting Honor Roll honorees lead by example, making nonpartisan voter participation a lifelong habit for themselves and their peers.”

Leventhal with VoteDeis students and the Vote GoatA recent survey from CIRCLE found that 48% of under-35 youth who did not vote in 2024 heard little or nothing at all about how to vote, compared to the 15% of under-35 youth who cast their ballots. By integrating nonpartisan voter registration and education into campus life, colleges and universities can have a measurable impact in encouraging students to become active and engaged citizens.

Brandeis University congratulates Madeline Leventhal on this remarkable achievement and looks forward to continuing to support and celebrate student leaders who are driving positive change in our democracy.
