Journalism Program

Get Involved

There are many ways that alumni and other friends can help support and advance the Brandeis Journalism Program. Here are just a few:

  1. Volunteer to be a guest speaker in one of our courses. If you work in the media world and have real-world experience that you’d be willing to share with our students as a guest speaker, please contact Program Director Neil Swidey (neilswidey@brandeis.edu).
  2. Speak one-on-one with a Brandeis journalism student or, even better, let a student shadow you for a day. Experiential learning can play a major role in helping students find the right career, especially students who don’t come from families with extensive networks. If you’d be willing to speak with one of our students or have them shadow you, please contact Assistant Director of Internships and Outreach, Rachel Kim Raczka (rachelraczka@brandeis.edu.)
  3. Donate to our new Journalism Gift Fund. Your support will help advance our initiatives to inject new energy and talent into the Journalism Program and widen opportunities for our students, especially first-generation students and other underrepresented students. We are expanding our outreach efforts to encourage more underrepresented students to study journalism.
