Meet Tess Abboud
January 22, 2026
Meet Tess Abboud, new admissions coordinator at Brandeis Online.
Get to know Tess!
What are some fun facts about you?
I love to read! I also have two dogs named Doug and Knox, who love to go for walks.
Can you tell us a little about your background?
I grew up on the South Shore in Weymouth, MA. I studied at Merrimack College and recently earned both my undergraduate degree in Business Administration and my graduate degree in Strategic Communication, focusing on corporate communication and marketing.
During my time as an undergraduate student, I worked for a variety of campus offices including the Office of Intercultural Initiatives and the Office of Residence Life. As a graduate student, I worked full-time as a fellow for the Office of Graduate Admissions where I supported marketing and student outreach initiatives. I truly enjoyed my time in graduate school. Between working during the day and taking classes at night, I found time to both connect with my classmates, and prepare myself for post grad life. I am certainly a lifelong learner, and hope to continue my academic career in the near future.
My graduate and undergraduate experiences have shaped my understanding of working in higher education communities and my motivations to continue working with students to achieve their personal and professional goals!
What attracted you to Brandeis Online? What inspired you to work for Brandeis Online?
I love the community and tight-knit feel of Brandeis. Programs are made easily accessible for all students, which makes for a diverse student population, as well as a range of experiences and career goals. It is motivating to be part of a community that values mission-driven education.
What are the responsibilities of your role at Brandeis Online?
As an admissions coordinator, I work with prospective graduate students from initial inquiry to deposit. This involves creating personal connections, assisting in the application process, connecting students with campus resources and services, holding office hours, and more. I also work with program leadership to spotlight unique program benefits and highlight student opportunities. In addition, I work alongside enrollment marketing to align both campaign initiatives and Brandeis missions with admission goals.
What excites you the most about your position? What are you most looking forward to?
I love creating connections with students, learning about their past and current experiences, and hearing about their plans for the future. It is encouraging and motivating to hear the perspectives of many individuals and having the opportunity to learn from their stories.
