Privileges
Emeritae/emeriti faculty are entitled to the following university privileges upon their retirement.
Retain campus ID providing access to university facilities; discounts and tickets; and participation in university-wide events such as plays, concerts and academic lectures.
Full access to brandeis.edu email accounts, listservs, mailing lists and websites.
Retain rank and, where applicable, title to endowed chair, appended with "emeritus" or "emerita," where gift or grant agreement allows. See Appointment of Faculty to Emeritus/a Status.
To the extent possible, may retain campus offices and be included on department webpages and listservs. Some departments invite emeritae/emeriti faculty to departmental meetings and events.
The Faculty Senate includes one seat for an emerita/emeritus faculty member. All emeritae/emeriti faculty are eligible to run for the seat.
Full access to all Brandeis library services, including, but not limited to, borrowing privileges at Goldfarb Library, interlibrary loan and the Technology Services Help Desk. Resources should only be used for academic purposes.
Those who do not retain a departmental office may apply for a carrel in Goldfarb Library. Contact University Librarian Matthew Sheehy.
Access to a gold parking sticker and card-activated parking areas. In order to apply for or renew parking privileges, complete the Application for Motor Vehicle Permit at the Department of Public Safety.
Full access to Brandeis athletic facilities, events and outings.
